Tips For Caring For Your Child's Jeans
Blue jeans can be an extremely durable type of clothing, which can make these garments ideal for young children. Unfortunately, many parents will be unaware of the steps for effectively caring for their child's blue jeans. This can result in the jeans needing to be replaced fairly frequently, which can be a major expense.
Carry A Spot Treatment Kit With You
It is a reality that your child may be very prone to getting food, beverage and other substances on their clothing. These substances can often leave extremely noticeable stains in the garments that could ruin the appearance of these garments. Luckily, you will be able to help to prevent the worst stains from forming by always carrying a spot treatment with you. This treatment will allow you to prevent these stains from setting into the fabric. While you should always carry one of these kits with you, it is important to avoid placing them in areas that could get extremely hot as this may degrade the performance of these kits.
Flip The Jeans Inside Out Prior To Washing Them
Washing the jeans on a regular basis will be one of the most effective ways of keeping them in good condition as this will remove smells and stains before they can permanently set into the fabric. However, washing your jeans can also be very wearing on the fabric. Luckily, you may be able to reduce this were on the jeans by turning them inside out. This will prevent the exterior of the pants from developing rips, fraying fabric or warping.
Allow The Jeans To Air Dry
After you have washed the jeans, you may be tempted to simply throw them into the dryer. However, using the dryer on your jeans can be one of the more damaging things that you can do to them. This is due to the intense heat that the dryer will generate as this heat can cause the fibers in the jeans to rapidly degrade. A safer alternative to using the dryer will be to change the jeans and allow them to air dry. When air drying the jeans, you may want to place them in an area that receives ample airflow as this will help to expedite the drying process. Also, placing them where they can receive intense sunlight can be another way of helping to gently speed up the drying process. This option may take longer than using a standard dryer, but it can be worth it for greatly extending the life of your child's jeans.
